For centuries they moved across the landscapes,
In search of a better tomorrow with wishful and hopeful aspirations;
with a marching band of humans and animals, one following the other,
the shade was a source of energy; green and blue were the rays of hope,
hoping that their families could cope.

Some worked and moved on while others engaged in trade and tried to amass a fortune, building towns on the way,
Travelled with them were the memories of the past and the desires of the future,
as the generations lit up, the walls filled with laughter,
It became their family home thereafter.
Walls changed in form and size, colour and finish,
Adoring them were expressions of one’s true self,
Some articulated with colours and views from the land afar,
some were patterns seen across the land.
Sitting amidst the field with courtyards overlooking the dusty streets;
that remained deserted in the day with men and women at work;
Peering through the empty balconies are the children and grandparents that stayed back.
Fascinating as it sounds and seems, the houses are a complex web of supply and needs,
It was a work in progress, building and growing with the years
until it was time to say goodbye and move on without a frown.
Off they go in search of new land in a new town.
