Through my lens
The north eastern project
A physical manifestation of the challenges and opportunities the landscape provides,
Be it forests, mountains, a giant lake, or a river.
Every tribe has found a way of living, as we call it,
Thriving as they may think for it to be.
Dependent on the earth for food and shelter,
It prevented them from running helter-skelter.
The bamboo and timber from the forest supported and protected,
Be it from the rain or the evil spiriting circling in vain.
A place where rain doesn’t shy away,
Thus the use of mud to construct would be kept at bay.
Although bamboo groves and forests were in the backyard,
Mud walls stood the rain without any fall.
A paradigm shift we see,
The built and the unbuilt,
Untouched and pristine,
Till a day comes when modernisation will become.
