Learn and Unlearn

There is something to learn from everything and everyone.

Often in the middle of difficult circumstances, we tend to consult our elders or think about what they would do in a similar situation. We often rely on the experiences passed on through the generations. Solutions to a throbbing headache or the family recipe for the best sweets. The little trade secrets as some may call are the anchors that support us and guide us.

Growing up in a country with an area of 3.28 million square kilometres, we have a plethora of trade secrets and learnings to learn from. We at Windows to Vernacular are on a path to learn something from everything and everyone. We are a group of individuals rooted in different parts of the country, with a common interest in learning and using that learning to live. Attempting to bridge the gap in the transfer of knowledge from the generations before to the current one, trying to collect everyday learnings.

Over time, we will be taking you through our journey from the lessons we learned; finding ways to communicate in a mix of multiple languages; changing multiple modes of transport over a couple of days to reach remote destinations.

This is our journey where we learn and unlearn.
